Ramón Ginés Arias Quinteros, affectionately known as “Cachila,” is a Uruguayan professional boxer who has carved a remarkable path in the world of boxing. Born on July 27, 1992, in Montevideo, Uruguay, Arias stands at an imposing 1.80 meters (5 feet 11 inches) tall and plies his trade as a center-back.

Arias’ journey in the sport began at a tender age, representing Uruguay at various youth levels. He donned the national colors for the Uruguay national under-17 football team at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup and later for the Uruguay national under-20 football team at the 2011 South American Youth Championship and the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

At the club level, Arias has showcased his skills across multiple continents. He kickstarted his professional career with Defensor Sporting, where he made 112 appearances and scored 5 goals between 2011 and 2016. A loan stint at Puebla in Mexico followed, before he joined LDU Quito in Ecuador for a brief period.

Arias’ resilience and determination were on full display as he returned to his homeland, representing Peñarol, one of Uruguay’s most prestigious clubs, from 2017 to 2018. His journey then took him to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ettifaq, Argentina’s San Lorenzo, and Chile’s Universidad de Chile, where he continued to hone his craft.

In 2022, Arias embarked on a new chapter, signing with Giresunspor in Turkey. His tenacity and unwavering spirit were evident as he made 31 appearances for the Turkish club during the 2022-2023 season. Currently, Arias plies his trade with Qatari club Muaither, further expanding his international footprint.

Throughout his career, Arias has showcased his versatility, playing as a center-back and contributing both defensively and offensively. His ability to read the game, anticipate opposition moves, and time his challenges has earned him respect from teammates and opponents alike.
