Rene Mark Cuarto: The Mighty Filipino Boxer

Rene Mark Cuarto, a 27-year-old Filipino professional boxer, has made a name for himself in the world of boxing. Born on August 4, 1996, in Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines, Cuarto has held the IBF mini-flyweight title from 2021 to 2022.

Cuarto’s professional career began in 2014, and he quickly rose through the ranks with his impressive skills and determination. His orthodox stance and height of 5 feet 2 inches have proven to be advantageous in the ring. With a record of 21 wins, 12 of which were by knockout, 4 losses, and 2 draws, Cuarto has established himself as a force to be reckoned with.

One of Cuarto’s most significant achievements was winning the IBF strawweight title in February 2021 after outlasting Pedro Taduran in a hard-fought battle. He successfully defended his title against Taduran in a rematch the following year, cementing his status as a champion.

However, Cuarto’s reign as the IBF minimumweight champion came to an end in July 2022 when he lost the title to Daniel Valladares via a controversial split decision in Monterrey, Mexico. Despite the setback, Cuarto’s determination and resilience have not wavered.

In December 2022, Cuarto made a statement by knocking out Dexter Alimento in the second round, putting himself back in contention for another shot at the world title. His sights are now set on the winner of the highly anticipated rematch between Valladares and Ginjiro Shigeoka, the unbeaten Japanese contender.

Cuarto’s journey in the boxing world has been marked by perseverance and a relentless pursuit of excellence. His unwavering spirit and dedication to his craft have earned him respect and admiration from fans and fellow boxers alike. As he continues to chase his dreams, Rene Mark Cuarto remains a shining example of the talent and tenacity that Filipino boxers possess.
