Fuad Aslanov: From Olympic Boxer to Space Industry Leader

Fuad Aslanov is a name that resonates with excellence and versatility. Born on January 2, 1983, in Sumgait, Azerbaijan, Aslanov first gained international recognition as a formidable boxer. Competing in the flyweight division, he represented Azerbaijan at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where he clinched a bronze medal. During his tenure, Aslanov was instrumental in developing new satellite communication solutions and products, significantly increasing the agency’s revenues.

In 2022, Aslanov was appointed Vice-Chairman of Azercosmos. In this role, he continues to drive the agency’s commercial activities and strategic partnerships. One of his notable achievements includes the recent collaboration with Viasat, a global leader in satellite communications. This partnership aims to expand satellite-enabled services across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, supporting various industries such as energy, utilities, and transport. Aslanov’s vision and leadership are crucial in transforming Azercosmos into an international center for satellite communications.

Fuad Aslanov’s academic background is as impressive as his professional achievements. He holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Central European University in Hungary, a Mini-MBA in Telecom Business and Communication Technology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economical Cybernetics from Baku State University.
